Global Biodiversity and Nature Assessment Tool
GBNAT offers global quantitative data on biodiversity, deforestation, human impact, and water risks, helping identify priority areas for assessing biodiversity impacts. Its ready-to-use output supports the Locate phase of TNFD, furthermore guiding decisions on commodity production, mining, and nature restoration.
Key Features
Comprehensive datasets covering both terrestrial and marine realms:
GBNAT provides quantitative information on biodiversity and ecosystem for any location worldwide. Both terrestrial and marine environments are covered in our datasets, which include biodiversity importance and intactness, deforestation, human footprint, and water-related risks (pollution/flood/drought).
Your input is only the location of your activities:
By providing the location of your operations, GBNAT delivers statistics to help assess the biodiversity impact and dependence of your business in an evidence-based, quantitative manner.
Enabling you to nature-related information disclosure and strategy building:
You can use GBNAT to identify priority areas for assessing biodiversity risks, analyze the impact of commodity production or mining, and determine areas where nature restoration will have the greatest positive impact. The data is ready-to-use and applicable in the Locate phase of TNFD.
What is available on GBNAT?
GBNAT can provide biodiversity reports based on our spatial datasets for any given locations of terrestrial and marine realm. GBNAT's assessment includes not only the biodiversity itself, but ecosystem conditions including deforestation rate, human footprint increase, and water related indicators (water quality, flood risk, and drought risk). Please register to get sample reports.

Our and Scientific Background
Our background is in macroecology and biodiversity conservation science. Our products are based on state-of-the-art scientific knowledge from seven PhD holders. We have developed more than 40 million species distribution data points and more than 100 spatial data layers over more than 10 years of research and have published more than 100 papers in collaborative research networks in more than 10 countries. The list of selected publications is here.
Our PublicationsPricing
GBNAT has a transparent pricing structure. Prices are calculated based on the number of layers and locations you select. There is a discount for each incremental increase in the number of points you evaluate. Here are approximate prices based on the number of locations. In reality, the number of locations and the set of layers vary depending on the user's choice. Evaluation can be done from a minimum of one location (maximum 200). For more than 200 locations, please contact us via inquiry form.
